Review of Wired

Wired is a monthly magazine about emerging technologies such as the Internet, and how they affect diverse areas such as culture, the economy, and politics.

Wired was famously founded during the dot-com bubble era in the 1990s, and with a focus appropriate to the times (for example it listed interesting FTP sites and internet newsgroups back in the days when few people had access to the internet, as well as being one of the first magazines to publish the email addresses of authors and contributors). However in more recent years it has deliberately moved towards a more mainstream direction, and attracting readers and industry awards as a result.

Perhaps Wired's biggest cultural achievement is however creating new terminology, which has subsequently been widely adopted, such as the "crowdsourcing" and the "Long Tail".
